Great Scotland Yard is undergoing a major transformation from the former headquarters of the Metropolitan Police to a 92,000 sq ft luxury hotel. The refurbishment is being led by Galliard Homes which is investing £50 million in the restoration of the building.

Preserving the historic features of the Grade-II listed Edwardian structure while ensuring it offers the finest five-star experience for guests is crucial to the project’s success. This has presented challenges for the scheme’s drylining specification, particularly for achieving the high-end acoustic efficiency and interior finishing required for the luxury hotel.

Working closely with Galliard Homes, the drylining contractor PIB Contractors and EPR Architects, Siniat has created a high-performance drylining system for Great Scotland Yard which provides five-star acoustic insulation while respecting the hotel’s historic context and boosting internal space.
